The relationship between Angel, Darla, Drusilla and Spike is an odd one. They really are a family. Darla sired(made a vampire) Angel, who then went on to torture and sire Drusilla who in turn sired Spike. In vampire family trees this would make Darla the mother, grandmother and great grandmother of the family. Angel is father and grandfather, Drusilla is mother to Spike and he just has to try to prove himself.

There is a constant power struggle within this relationship between Angel and Spike. Spike is seen to be an immature, annoying vampire by Angel who see's himself as the ipotime of what vampire should be. Angel continues a sexual relationship with Drusilla just because he can and he likes to make Spike squirm.

Angel is the leader of this foursome, the ladies happily will follow Angel where ever he may lead them.

I love this relationship and watching it unfold is amusing in a way.
